"I just kept buying more and more gemstones, of all shapes and colours, of top clarity, cut and colour and from all over the world. All ethically sourced and absolutely beautiful, but before too much time had passed I had accumulated a collection of close to one hundred brilliant jewels, and I realised the time had come to do something with them."

About Me

I have spent most of my life in Victoria, Australia, having grown up on a large Merino stud in the windy plains of Victoria’s Western District in a tiny, one street town called Woorndoo.  At 12 years of age I went off to board at co-ed Geelong Grammar School, and it was in my teens that I developed a love for big, bold and sparkling gemstones.  I inherited a huge aquamarine ring from my Grandmother when I was about 18, only to discover that the somewhat scratched stone was actually glass, so I worked and scraped up all of my savings over many, many months to buy an exact size, stunning natural aquamarine replacement stone, at huge expense now looking back.

Cut to my late 20’s and I was fortunate enough to be bejewelled by my very generous first husband: two beautiful, ‘knock out’ emerald and diamond Kozminsky Melbourne rings, which my two adult daughters, Claudia and Ava, now wear.  It was when my girls were in their mid-teens, about 7 years ago, that I was debating over what to get them for Christmas. Something identical that only they, as sisters, would have forever. This resulted in my researching many local gemstone merchants and eventually purchasing a pair of loose-cut, pear aquamarines. Something that the girls could then make a piece of jewellery with, of their own design, when they were older – also as I knew if I had designed something to give to them myself, chances were they’d never wear it and it would sit in a jewellery box untouched forever!

When I received these aquamarines, I remember being blown away with their colour and sparkle. They were absolutely stunning and, I thought, a total bargain in comparison to my 18 year old aquamarine purchase! From that point on, I just kept buying more and more gemstones, of all shapes and colours, of top clarity, cut and colour and from all over the world. All ethically sourced and absolutely beautiful, but before too much time had passed I had accumulated a collection of close to one hundred brilliant jewels, and I realised the time had come to do something with them.

So in 2019, together with my now husband (who has also been exceptionally generous in the bejewelling department!) we held an auction in Daylesford, Victoria, which showed us that there were plenty of people who were keen to create their own jewellery pieces, and momentarily relieved me of most of my collection.  Only momentarily, it grew back very quickly.

I’m now 54 and over the past four years, I have become passionate about sourcing top quality gemstones, educating myself along the way, and building up a new, colourful and diverse collection of beautiful, natural jewels to suit all budgets.  I have had great success selling my gems directly to jewellers and to the public via Auction Houses across Australia.  And now, with the recent launch of our Bold online store, I am able to offer this ever-evolving and growing collection to you directly, so that you might begin your own gemstone journey. Because one of the many beautiful things about a gemstone is that once you have chosen a gem, and either gifted it to someone special or set it into a piece of jewellery for yourself, it is set for an eternity, passing through generations and taking with it the evolving story of how it all began, and who then passed it on to whom.  Much better than gifting a pair of Airpods or some other mass manufactured item that will end up as landfill, don’t you think?

I hope you enjoy browsing the collection.  We will soon be adding more finished jewellery pieces and our luxury pet accessory line, so be sure to visit again.  And if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
